A week of having my rather large dining room look like this left its toll on the cleanliness factor around here.
.
There was (and still is) dust in places I've never cleaned before.
The evening I returned home from running away last week, I made Britton take the kids for pizza for a couple of hours so I could at least clean their bedrooms and bathroom.
It was BAD.
There was still only plywood in the dining room.
The dirt from about 1/4 of the room...
And this is about 2 swipes with the Swiffer on my kitchen floor...
During my cleaning frenzy I got really hungry and found a stash of food leftover from the guys. It was kindof funny when later that evening Britton said..."have you seen my mountain dew?"
I just pointed to this...
I'm such a dork.
Phase II of flooring will take place in June-ish. Now that the floors are level, we'll be putting hardwood downstairs instead of the current laminate.
Hopefully it won't be such a DIRTY process. It's been hard to recover from all the dirt.
I've cleaned.....and cleaned again.
But a few pieces of recently garage-saled and thrifted goodness around the house make it feel springy and nice.
Even though there aren't baseboards or door jams and there will be lots of unfinished edges until June, I'm thankful for a rock solid, level floor and a few pieces of eye candy to distract me until then.
And now that the dirt is (mostly) out of my house, I'm having a truck load of it hauled here tomorrow for more raised beds in the garden!!
Maybe I should have just emptied the dustpan and Dyson outside instead of into trash bag after trash bag and made my own dirt pile?
Dirt is my life.
Goodbye.
