Britton and I have been keeping a little secret from the children.
We booked a Disney vacation back in the early spring.
After 5 years of saving money from Barn Sales, lemonade stands, photo shoots and other various efforts, we are ready to make the big trip to Orlando!
You may remember how Miles and Ella have made things to sell at their booth at The Barn Sale. Every cent went in The Disney Jar, where we've been collecting our money for this trip. We hope that they remember how hard we all worked together to make this vacation happen.
We considered waiting until the day of our trip to wake them and tell them where we're headed, but I wanted them to have a bit of anticipation for the trip (ok-ok, I wanted their help with all the prep and I wanted leverage over their behavior).
We bought them each a Mickey Mouse Christmas ornament. They get a new ornament each year, so this was an expected event.

We had asked for their trust a few days before this. They were constantly making long lists of "wants" for Christmas. We told them that if they'd just trust us, this would be the "best Christmas ever" but that they wouldn't be getting a bunch of toys. They were hesitant, looked quite disappointed, but said they'd agree to trust us.
Britton reminded them of this agreement right before they got to search their stockings for their new ornaments.

Deep inside each stocking, under the ornament was this countdown sheet...

Miles found it first.

He happily made the announcement to the others.

So, we're going to Disney World in 11 days and we're just so excited!
