entertained by bubbles.

It's rainy and cold here today, but in the last weeks the weather has been really beautiful.  It's always a challenge to keep the kids entertained while I attempt to accomplish just about anything outside. On this particular day, while I worked on stuff for our 2nd Annual Barn Sale (coming up this weekend!), the kids played in their water park.  

It only took 2 1/2 minutes before they were bugging me again.

over the last weeks.

Sept 25 was the Tie Dye Triathlon.  

I completed it with my pals from Shawnee...

and from Pauls Valley.

My fan club cheered me on!

And after we left the tri, we went to see M's very favorite train engine.

Third time we've gone to ride Thomas.  Last year when we left, M asked "when will Thomas come back to Okamona City?"  I replied "in the fall".  All year long he asked..."when's fall?"  On the first day of fall, he exclaimed with all the excitement he could muster...."THOMAS IS COMING!!!!"  He really does have a one track mind.  (One track? HA!)

In October, M started art lessons with my friend Leanne.

We practiced a little before he started with some finger painting...

I'll be posting about his art show next week.  It's this Friday night at a local coffee shop and he's so excited!

We tackled some pretty significant projects at the homestead...

B worked hard to figure out how to run electricity to our barn.  

I am constantly amazed at how my husband can do things he "doesn't know how to do".  In a year he's - with a little lot of help from our friends - completed a major remodel on our bathroom, replaced every floor joist in the house, laid beautiful hardwood floors, done trim wood work and run electricity to our barn.  That may not be all.  I'm just not remembering.  He's pretty awesome.  And he makes LOTS of dust when he renovates.  

We ripped up the rest of our downstairs flooring over fall break to finish laying wood...

And got beautiful new french doors that actually close!!

E was super cute all month long...

I became a soccer mom. 

And in a month where I feel like my view has been largely from the couch trying to survive feeling crummy and pregnant, I want to remember how much fun we had.  

Because we have had LOTS of fun too.

Anybody out there notice it's been almost a MONTH since I've been to this place?  

Sheesh.

The other night my sweet husband said "remember when you used to blog?"

Clearly, I completely dropped the ball with my KinderGardens and regular day-to-day posting, so I need to spend a few days playing catch up.  

I'll start with the garden.

When you last saw us we were celebrating our sunflowers.  

The last little bit of color and excitement amidst a summer of extreme heat, no rain and...

Around here, when it was 108 degrees everyday we decided it was time to grow something of a different  kind.  Stroked out cucumbers and dried up tomato plants just weren't very much fun.

I missed the KG recap earlier this week and apologize to my KG friends for going MIA.  

I've spent a great deal of time just trying to survive these first few weeks of pregnancy.  

So, instead of thinking about nausea for the next few minutes, I'm going to celebrate the few victories and lots of fun we did get to have in our garden this summer.

 

It really was a great summer.  Who cares if we didn't have a bountiful harvest?  

We.  Had.  Fun.

And on April 15, 2012 (..ish...my babies don't ever come when expected) we'll be adding a little more fun  and a lot more cuteness to the mix!
