As a surprise for Ella, there were lanterns -- like on Disney's Tangled!
It was a magical end to the evening...
...aaaaand a perfect way to just about start a fire in the trees they got stuck in. I'll never forget the way Scott leaped through the field, willing the lanterns to go higher, faster. I could not breathe from laughter!
