WDW: Day 1

5:30 came so early morning! I didn't have much trouble getting everyone out of bed though.  These sleepy faces were EXCITED to ride on an airplane.

Our shuttle picked us up at 6:00am.  There was one other couple with two small children in the lobby with us.  They were on our flight, headed to the same resort we are!  Small world.

The Kidd family made flight bags for Miles, Ella & Emmett.  They included coloring activities, play dough, pipe cleaners, trail mix & other snacks, and a notebook and pencil for sketching or journaling.

This was the first flight for the kids and I hadn't flown since before Miles was born.  I was so thankful for a smooth takeoff, flight & landing.

Once at the Orlando airport, we got to take the shuttle (aka "TRAIN!") across the concourse.

Then, the Disney Express took us from the airport to our resort.

Once we arrived at our resort, Port Orleans Riverside, we dumped our carryon bags in our room and headed to Hollywood Studios.

We found a spot in front of our room to prop up the iPhone and set the timer for a daily group photo.

I'm really at a loss for words at how to describe our vacation. I was so overwhelmed with gratitude and thankfulness at finally being able to experience this with my family and I'm not sure I can accurately describe just how much fun we had.  I can tell you that I spent a great deal of the trip fighting (or not even trying to fight) tears of joy.  I'll try to let photos tell the story of the 7 days we spent in the Disney parks.

We rode The Great Movie Ride, saw Disney Junior - Live on Stage, rode Star Tours, watched the Indiana Jones stunt show, ate a tasty dinner at the 50's Prime Time Cafe, attended a "secret" dance party at Club Mickey (a cast member told us about it and it was AWESOME!) and ended the day watching Fantasmic.

Fantasmic was such perfect show for Emmett to see on his first night.  He fell in love with Sorcerer Mickey and used his "powers" for the remainder of the trip.  Everywhere he went he stuck up his little hands and moved boats, buses, people, strollers, etc.  One of our favorite memories!
