"If life throws you lemons.....make lemonade."
We're opening up a lemonade stand.
Britton's full-time job came to an abrupt halt over the weekend. All of a sudden, we're doing the unemployment dance.
We've decided not to cry.
We'd rather laugh.
So here's THE TOP TEN REASONS UNEMPLOYMENT IS AWESOME:
1. Britton doesn't HAVE to take a shower in the morning.
2. We're going to be able to double team Miles and his aversion to potty training 24 hours a day.
3. I get to hone my coupon-ing/frugality skills. Prepare yourselves. I'll probably blog about it.
4. Family time!
5. Can you say middle-of-the-afternoon-Deadliest Catch Marathons???
6. $1/lane bowling from 2-4pm.
7. Time to finally watch LOST.
8. Time to finally watch 24.
9. Britton will be able to mow during daylight hours, giving Papa Ed a much needed vacation.
10. We're starting an exclusive support group. It's called The Trifecta of Unemployment. Members include: 1.) the homeless, nomad rock star asleep on my couch, 2.) myself (though I'll argue that I do have a job, just don't get paid...) and now 3.) Britton. We meet weekday mornings at 9:00 am during The Price Is Right.

We're very blessed to have a part time income as Britton is a part-time youth pastor and I do a bit of office work for our church. I mention that because I don't want anyone freaking out. This is a bit scary, but we serve a big God and I'm excited to see what he has in store for Britton and our little family.
In the meantime, I sure am glad Miles like onions.
'Cause we have plenty of them in our garden.
Have you EVER seen a 3 year old walk around eating an onion?
Me either.

well, I can tell you that nothing will get you through except faith in God. He'll keep those onions growing...and he'll provide lemons for your lemonade stand! I'm so sorry to hear about Britton's job. But, you guys are the most creative and positive people I know..so I know you'll come out bigger and better on the other side. Love you guys!
I love that you can laugh through such a scary time. {Me? Probably not.} And you're right - we serve a BIG God!
Enjoy the extra family time and if you could, please have Miles call Noah and explain to him the benefits of eating your veggies.
I've been told that when I was two I ate an onion from Nana and Papa's garden. I also smelled like it for days every time I'd come in from playing outside.
Take Miles outside tomorrow and work up a good sweat... see how that onions smells then! :) Erin did that at about his age, and we smelled it for two or three days! Quite funny!
And we are praying for you guys... can't wait to see what God has planned!
Thanks guys for the encouragement guys!
And Miles hasn't smelled like onions yet... I think Erin just stinks. (O 'scuse me....I was just kidding Erin!)
Praying that God will provide the perfect job for Britton! Love you guys! kristi
Oh and I forgot I'm giving away a wonderful book called 'sunflower house' that you little one would love! Kim
My Sweet Girl has always loved raw onions...go figure!
Your attitude is just awesome...God is indeed BIG and you will be amazed how He will work through this new 'blessing'!

i can't tell you how excited this post made me. not that i'm excited you guys lost your full time income, bc THAT is a bummer, BUT i was just thinking this morning how i love stories of faith like that-- just rolling with the punches and and accepting what is thrown your/our way, knowing God has great things in store. it's so encouraging, and....i don't know, gets me all happy inside. again, not happy that he lost his job. bc that would be....mean. but happy at your faith, Faith. :) I'm excited to see what's in store!
Move back to the valley! Lol. You had to know that was coming (from me at least) 8). Love you and praying for you.
