I wish I could snap my fingers and know how to bake good bread.

The other day I refused to go to the grocery store in the rain, so I looked up a recipe for homemade hamburger buns.

I really have no clue what I'm looking for when it says to knead bread until it's smooth and elastic.

Hello bread dough.... Are you smooth and elastic enough?

What do you think, Miles? Lets beat it a little more for good measure.

Now it says to divide it into balls. We should get about 12.

9? OK.

You want to eat it now? Sorry son. We have to cover them with a towel for 30 minutes. Wanna cover them?

They're supposed to rise....

...That's what I was afraid of. They look exactly the same as when we put them under there...

10-12 minutes in the oven or until golden brown....

They look like crap...

But they taste good.

Still looks like crap. The oven fries, however, I could teach a class on...

Guess I'll be spending a little time curled up with this if I'm gonna get good at bread..

Hey Faith, I think you overworked your dough lol. Knead, don't beat, and don't work the heck out of it. It needs air bubbles.

At least, that's the case with some. May not be the same with hamburger bun dough haha.

I just remembered those were the instructions for my pie dough. Not any sort of bread. Ignore me. That's different. lol.
