the first of our 2011 crop.

We planted radishes, lettuce, spinach, carrots and onions last month.

This week...

Our first batch of radishes are ready!

M was so excited he danced around the garden pestering me to hurry with my chores...
"Hurry up Mom!!!  I wanna pick the radishes!!!"

He'll be the big f-o-u-r this weekend.
But his hands are still little in the garden.

Speaking of little...

Miles has spotted several lady bugs in the yard and garden, each time exclaiming...
"Lady Bug...Mom!  Come check this out"!

So now, Ella does the same thing.  "Ahhhh!  Yay [long a] Bu [short u]"!

We go into the garden each day dry.

But after watering, the little girl is ALWAYS soaked and sheds her clothes...

Hooray for the the beginning of yummy-healthy-grown-by-us-things-to-eat season!

PS - Did you know that Kim at The Inadvertent Farmer is doing the KinderGardens contest again this year?  Click HERE for a preview of this year's fun.

Oh man, this reminds me to go check our radishes! Love the yay bu! Too cute. Love that you are sharing gardening with your little ones.

Ahhh, I'm so jealous! We planted some cold weather stuff in pots and something came and ate them! Great job.
