Super Moon 2011

Did anyone see the giant, bright moon this weekend?


It was 14% bigger and 30% brighter than a normal full moon. 

I set my alarm for both Saturday evening and Sunday morning to try and get a good picture.  Both times, the clouds prevented me from getting a really good horizon shot....which was when the moon looked ginormous.



So for your science lesson today.... a video on Perigee and Apogee moons and why this Super Moon was so super.
