I've had a kite stashed away for Miles for several months. I envisioned a perfect fall day to fly it for the first time. And that's what I've been telling him...
"We'll fly it in the fall".
So the other day, as we're talking about the change of seasons and how the leaves are falling from the trees, he says, "Momma! We can fly my kite now!!"
And so we did.
Yes, the thrill of flying that kite brought sheer joy to his face.
And it didn't hurt that the kite featured his favorite thing in the whole world...
Thomas the Tank Engine!
Which leads me to a story I must write down before I forget...
A friend of ours, who also has a 3 year old and understands the potty training difficulties we've endured this year, had the following conversation with Miles...
Casey: "Miles, how's the potty training coming along?"
Miles: "THERE'S A POTTY TRAIN!?!?!?!?!"
Casey: **laughter**
Miles: "WHERE IS IT????? IS IT COMING????"
PS - Miles has not had an accident (aside from standing in front of the toilet and still managing to pee in the complete opposite direction of the goal) in almost 3 weeks! That includes naps and night time!!

bwahaha!!! LOVE the potty train!!
We have aiming issues as well. Why, oh why, do they put radiators next to toilets?? They just sit there, waiting for little boys to pee on them so that they can get rust spots and stink like roasted pee when they get hot. UGH!!
Enjoyed seeing Miles SO excited over his kite. Hooray for simple things like kites. :)
Makes me want to sing Marry Poppins! :) I just love how dramatic and cute Miles' facial expressions are! :)
